“I’ve always made a total effort, even when the odds seemed entirely against me. I never quit trying; I never felt I didn’t have a chance to win.” --ARNOLD PALMER

The Multiple Sclerosis Center of Atlanta recently lost our CEO, R. Terry Smith. Arnold Palmer’s quote describes Terry perfectly. Terry’s fight with cancer ended after a three-year struggle with the disease, including treatment at MD Anderson, Emory and Piedmont. Throughout that time, he never stopped fighting, never quit trying, never felt he didn’t have a chance to win -- all while remaining active in his role of CEO of MSCA with his characteristic level of competence and incredible work ethic. Terry’s leadership helped MSCA grow to one of the largest MS centers in the United States, treating over 6,000 patients from 28 states. Many of the Center’s current plans were developed by Terry and should continue to strengthen it for years to come.

For all of us at the MS Center of Atlanta, his memories will never fade. We are thankful for his time at MSCA and will always sense his presence. Terry was an avid golfer and always enjoyed the Annual MSCA Golf Tournament. It is with great pride that we dedicate this year’s tournament to him.
